Woah were at the end kinda crazy to think about. Im excited to go back to School, but at the same time it's been really nice not going. I wanted to write a thank you note to my mentor because if it wasn't for all our mentors we wouldn't be able to do this.

Dear Luis,
I wanted to start this off with saying thank you for choosing me and allowing me to come work with you at Faith. It was so much fun and more fun then I expected it to be. I have learned a lot through it that I will use in my personal life and in my school work. The quote that still stands out to me is "Under promise, Over deliver" I still really like this because it makes the most sense. If you over promise you either overwork yourself trying to match what you said or you're never able to. I think that if you under promise and then you deliver this incredible piece of work people will appreciate it so much more. I was also very thankful that you let me work on the upcoming marketing campaign and designing a couple of my own pieces. My favorite piece that I made has to be either my short polo shirt or my sweat set. Anyways thank you so much for this opportunity and have a great time at NYFW.

Below in this picture is the wall right off the front door with the little mighty men holding up a hat and climbing the wall, Kate Moss for Chanel, two other pieces of art, and a mirror.

I wanted to chose a blog from a previous week so I chose to due week 2 prompt #5. I chose to do this because at the time I couldn't really see how my role was developing like I saw that it was but at the same time it wasn't if that makes sense. Now though it has developed I feel like. I have been working on a marketing campaign for the new drop that is coming up. We have worked on different scenarios for videos to make people stop and fully  watch and see all the little details. We are calling this portion of the campaign "Fuel your Faith" and this can mean multiple things. We want the videos to be acts of faith weather it be helping an elderly lady cross the street or bring together family for something. I thought that we should do some parallels with like groups that you normally wouldn't think would help. One idea I had was to do a group of skaters looking like they are doing something bad because a lot of skaters get bad raps. Weather it be them breaking up a fight but make it look like they are in it or something else along those lines. I'm also super shocked that this is almost our last week of internship its kind of weird to be honest how  fast the time went. In the photos below you can see my favorite book at my internship in his book shelf the one on the left being  the cover and name for it and the right being my favorite chapter from it. I like this chapter because it speaks to me. It say Court Attention At All Cost meaning get it in anyway you can but not by putting down other by being yourself weather you are being scandales or not.

Advice I would give to a another junior who might have wanted to chose a fashion internship but chose something else. First I would say WHY DIDN'T YOU!! I think if you like fashion in any way do an internship with some type of clothing brand or a store. I have learned a lot about the business and what to watch out for an what to know. Second I would say always listen to your mentor, I know that sounds very teacher but for real I have learned so much by just listening. Now last if you plan in the future to open your own clothing brand or become a creative director for a brand, look at every detail and think if you ordered this item what would you want. One quote that my mentor has said and it is also posted up on our the white boards 'UNDER PROMISE, OVER DELIVER" you do this because if you over promise on something people will get super hyped and if you cant deliver what you said or over deliver on that. It's wack. Now think how many times have you seen something and it was over hyped weather it was clothes, food, or a hotel. Then you get there and it is just womp womp. that's what you don't want as a business in any field. Below is a picture of me trying to replicate the photo of Tyler.

Social at my internship is huge. We have music playing and people talking while doing their work. One thing my mentor has told me before is that communication is huge to him. So kind of going the prompt but not. He has shown me that if you just talk to people in your environment a lot of things can work out. He also encouraged me to if I'm every stuck or don't know something speak up because 100% of the time if you don't know someone does and is willing to help you. While we work you can see my mentor Luis asking for options on items he is designing and see what things should be named or if this star should go up or down. Even as small but big as how large the letters on the hat should be. Maybe it might look good as a 3 but make it a 3.5 and it looks so much better. It's just an overall vibe in the office and I really like it. So in the photo below is inspo I found at a vintage market I was at. I thought that it would look really tuff on an item so yeah that's the picture.

First I want to start with its crazy how we are already on our 5th blog and how internship is coming to an end kind of fast. I would say a lot of different people benefit off of my internship. Starting with me I have talked about this in previous blogs but this experience has/is going to shape me into a better person. The second group of people that are benefited in a way are the people who have orders placed by me being over shipping and helping with that I am making sure that Linda from Boston is getting her order and that her order is in perfect condition. The last group that I would say I'm helping is my mentor by me being there it gives him some more time to just work on the clothes and work on marketing. With the brand prepping to go to NYFW it can get hectic. I am really happy that I can help because this gives me something real to do. When were at school we are just working on writing and solving problems which I have nothing against its just cool to be doing something. Down below is just a picture of me with an order I packed.

There have been a couple things that have surprised me while I've been at my internship. The first being how quick the time goes by. When were at school it feels like 8:30-3:30 seems so long but when I'm at my internship my work time goes by so quick. The second which is funny and makes sense but when I am over seeing packaging how many boxes and tape we go through. It makes a lot of sense but at the same time I feel like a tape roll should last longer. That's just me I get how we go through so much when I look at the stack of boxes waiting to get picked. So this is my petition to make large tape rolls larger. The last thing that surprised me is how much I do really like what I chose. I was nervous at first because I know I like clothes and like fashion. But was scared that this might ruin it for me. Good news it did not ruin it it actually made me appreciate it more. Below is a tech pack of a puffer jacket I am designing. you might be wondering just like I was when I heard tech pack for the first time what it is? Well it is basically the design plus all the small details you want that you send to your manufacture. This includes the materials you want, the colors you want, and any inso photos you might have.

I see my internship changing how hard I will work in the future. I think that its really cool that my mentor is 26 and has his own successful business. He talked to me about how he has gone through a couple of different brands. I still want to go to college and get a business degree because if I do decide to make my own clothing brand I will have knowledge from this internship and from the stuff I learn in college. I knew that I should put my all into the things I do but from this internship I am seeing what could happen when I do put my all into the things I do. I have also learned to pay attention to every detail because no detail is too small. When I get back to school I see myself still carrying over the things I have learned here into it. Below is a picture of the belts before they are packed to be sent out.

The culture at my internship is great. It's very calm and just a overall vibe. One thing I have learned so far from my mentor is that communication is huge and you should always be able to share and feel free even if you don't agree on the same subject. I think this was a god lesson to learn because communication is the core of a lot of things and people not sharing their opinion can just overall not be good. The music in the office is also always 10/10. I have gotten a lot of new songs from the office that have gone onto playlist in these last couple days. I also really like all the decor in the office plus the couch is super comfortable. So overall office aesthetic I rate an 11/10. In the office we also work together on collaborating on things my mentor will ask if this works with this or if he should do this to that. Below is a picture of art that is on the wall above the couch.

So my internship is at a clothing brand called Faith by Luis. So the goods they sell are clothing some of the most popular purchases are: The belts in either black sake with chrome or gold hardware or the leopard print belts also with gold or chrome hardware, all black corduroy hats that say either LA or NY, and last would be his other hats. I really like all the products that are already made and the ones that are upcoming/in the works.  I would say a "responsibility" to the community is to come out with unique pieces that you cant get anywhere else because when you get a piece of clothing you want to be able to wear it and have it last while looking good at the same time. Another thing that has come up due to the LA fires is that all the proceeds for the LA hats went towards the LAFD. This was very cool because it shows how California can come together to help each other. In the image below you can see the packing table with orders being packed and prepped for shipping.

I have a lot of hopes for this internship one being that I can take away lots of new skills and experience I will be able to use in real life. My number one fear is just messing something up but I know I won't It's just the voice in my head stressing me out. My internship takes place at the head office in San Diego. My mentor is the founder of the company, Luis. This fits into my life because I always wanted to do something in the fashion industry either with the clothes or with the business side. This internship will show me all sides and every possible thing I could learn about this business. Another item I am really excited for is the possibility of being able to go to NY fashion week with my internship. I am looking forward to this because it would be a very good experience for me. The picture below is just the website for the brand and some of the items that are sold.
